Sutter County Deputies Arrests Two Males for Metal Theft
TEXT:
At approximately 10:20 am on Monday, July 28, 2008, Sutter County Sheriff’s
Deputies responded to a call of a possible theft of metal in progress in
the 5300 block of Riego Road, Pleasant Grove. While searching the area
deputies observed a pickup alongside the roadway with two subjects a few
miles away on Riego Road matching the vehicle description. Upon further
investigation deputies were able to confirm that the property in the bed
of the truck was stolen. Deputies contacted three local farmers who were
able to meet at the scene to identify property belonging to them. Over
$1000 of recovered property was returned to the farmers. The stolen
property was various agricultural property such as pipe, discs, and
miscellaneous metal.
The investigation led to the arrest of Lawrence Edward Henry, 62 years old
and Robert Cail Jr., 58 years old, both out of Sacramento. Both suspects
were booked into the Sutter County jail on charges of possession of stolen
property, conspiracy, and grand theft.
The Sutter County Sheriff’s Department is pleased with the citizens taking
the time to report suspicious activity to law enforcement and encourages them
to continue reporting any suspicious activity.
