SUBJECT:
Sutter County Deputies arrest Two Males for Attempted Grand Theft
TEXT:
Sutter County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 9800 block of Garden Highway
in Yuba City regarding suspicious circumstances. Deputies were advised that
two (2) white males may be stealing diesel fuel from a field tank. Prior to
the deputies arriving the suspect vehicle left the area. Deputies were given
a description of the suspects and vehicle and were able to locate them at
Highway 99 between Riego Road and Elverta Road.
Upon further investigation the two (2) suspects were identified as Charles Bryant
Milburn, 28 years old of Sacramento and Michael John Charlton, 29 years old of
Sacramento. Milburn was arrested and booked into the Sutter County jail on
charges of attempted grand theft, trespassing, and on a warrant out of Contra
Costa County. Charlton was arrested and booked into the Sutter County jail
on charges of attempted grand theft, trespassing and a parole hold.
Four (4) – 55 gallon drums, a fuel pump along with other items were located in
the suspect’s vehicle. The Sheriff’s Department is asking for assistance from
the public in this case by asking if anyone who has seen a 2004 white Chevrolet
pickup, with a rear paper plate, to call the Sheriff’s Department at
(530) 822-7307. The Sheriff’s Department was able to successfully resolve
this case due to the victim reporting the suspicious circumstances.
The Sutter County Sheriff’s Department is reminding citizens to report any
suspicious activity to law enforcement.
