SUBJECT:

Sutter County Sheriff's Department Looking for Criminal Threats Suspect

TEXT:

WANTED PERSON

CARNEY, JEFFERY THOMAS

WMA- 28 years old

6’1” 190 lbs Brown eyes, short brown hair

04/18/2007 at around 1930 Subject Carney called his pastor and also contacted family members and said things like:

  • He will make Virginia Tech look mild.
  • Said he had an AK-47, improvised explosive devices and poison.
  • Wanted to commit suicide-by-cop

Subject Carney made no specific threat to any particular place or location. Subject reportedly is a methamphetamine abuser and is possibly under the influence and exhibiting symptoms of methamphetamine psychosis.

Carney is several pounds lighter than the attached photo that was taken on April 4, 2007 due to heavy recent meth abuse.  Carney is currently a transient.  His last known address was with family members in North Yuba City.  Carney is possibly driving a red boxy type mid 1990’s Honda/Toyota type sedan with a black hood.

All local police agencies have been notified and have been attempting to locate Carney through the night.  Local school officials are also being contacted.
