Sutter County Sheriff's Department Booking Information Now On-Line

Citizens wanting information as to who is in custody at the Sutter County Jail will no longer
have to come into the office or call in for their requests. All public information regarding
in-custody inmates will now be accessible on-line via the internet. Simply go to the Sutter
County Sheriffs web site at www.suttersheriff.org
and pull down the jail menu to View Current Inmates. After agreeing to a legal disclaimer,
the information will be available. The information is free and you do not have to reveal your
identity or any other information. Information that will be posted on-line will be:
- The name, age and date of booking of person(s) currently in custody.
- The current booking photo of the person in custody.
- A general description of the person in custody.
- The arresting agency, charges against the person, bail amount and visiting schedule.
Undersheriff Parker said "The public records act requires that this information be available
to the public and we have always complied with requests. However, we want to go the extra mile
in making access to these public records as easy and complete as possible to the public and
news media that is interested in them".
Only persons currently in custody will have this information displayed. Once a subject is
released from custody, the on-line system will update itself and the information will no
longer be on-line.
