Sutter County Sheriff’s K-9 Team Competes in Modesto K-9 Trials

TEXT:

Sutter County Sheriff’s Deputy John Devries and his K-9 partner “Rudie” recently competed in the Modesto K-9 Trials.  The team competed against 21 other teams from law enforcement agencies throughout California.  Deputy Devries and Rudie earned first place overall in the novice division, third place overall in protection work, and fifth place overall in the agility phase of the trials.  Deputy Devries is an 8 ½ year veteran of law enforcement and has been with Sutter County for the past 3 ½ years.  Rudie, a Dutch Shepherd, is 5 years old and has been with the Department K-9 Unit since 2005.
