FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Thursday, August 04, 2005, 10:00 am SUBJECT: Sutter County Detectives Make Arrest in Connection with Highway Shooting TEXT: Sutter County Sheriff’s Detectives have arrested a 21 year old Live Oak man for attempted murder in connection with a shooting incident that occurred on SR 99 south of Lomo Crossing on the afternoon of August 2, 2005. Detectives arrested Thomas Keith Boone Harris, 21, of Live Oak after the investigation determined that Harris was the driver of a truck involved in the shooting of a 26 yr old Yuba City woman. Still outstanding is the former boyfriend of the victim, who has been identified as Jose Arturo Leal, Jr. 22, no known address. Leal is described as 5-11, 200, Black hair, Brown eyes, with numerous tattoos on both arms. Leal is a known Norteno gang member and should be considered armed and dangerous. At present there is no known address or vehicle associated with Leal however, he is believed to still be in the Yuba-Sutter area.
