Sutter
County Sheriff’s Deputies Arrest Two Males for Robbery and Grand
Theft

Sutter County Sheriff’s Deputies
responded to the 8100 block of Marshall Street in Sutter regarding
to an in-progress theft. The theft had been interrupted by the
victim, who was alerted by noise created by the suspects attempting
to steal a trailer with two snowmobiles parked near the residence.
The victim was holding the suspects at gunpoint when one of the
suspects was able to gain control of the shotgun the victim was
holding. A struggle ensued and the victim received several blows to
the face, including at least one from being hit with the butt of the
gun. The two suspects were able to flee the area with the weapon in
their possession. The injuries to the victim were not life
threatening.
A short time later a Sheriff’s
Deputy responding to the incident, observed a vehicle matching the
suspect vehicle pass him eastbound on Buttehouse Road near Tharp
Road. The suspect vehicle was chased into the area of Poole and
Tharp, where the suspects both abandoned the vehicle and fled on
foot. Additional Sheriff’s patrol units, along with officers from
the Yuba City Police Department were dispatched to set up a
perimeter and search for the suspects. Two Sutter County K9 units
were used to locate both suspects in separate locations. One
suspect identified as William Jerrett Faunce, 26, of Brownsville,
was located hiding behind the Walgreens Store at Tharp and SR 20.
The second suspect was located nearby and identified as Michael
William Ginn, 25, of Linda, CA. Both suspects were arrested and
booked into the Sutter County Jail on charges of Robbery, Grand
Theft, Assault w/Deadly Weapon, and Poss. Of Stolen Property,
Conspiracy, and Poss. Of Less than 1 OZ of Marijuana.
The investigation is continuing and
no further release on this incident is anticipated at this time.
