Text
The Sutter
County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an attempted sexual
assault that occurred on Saturday (12-11-04) evening. The incident
occurred at approximately 6:30 PM, in the area of the bicycle path
that crosses the Gilsizer Slough between South Barrett Road and
Glenwood Drive, in South Yuba City.
The young
adult female victim who is a Yuba City resident was searching for her
dog in the above listed area when she was grabbed from behind by a
white male assailant, described as being in his 20’s, approximately
5’-10”, medium build, dark medium length hair, and described as being
clean shaven. The suspect was wearing a dark-colored long sleeve
shirt and dark pants.
The victim
managed to fight off her attacker and ran to a friend’s residence
nearby where the sheriff’s department was notified. A search of the
area by law enforcement personnel did not locate the suspect.
Because
the investigation is ongoing, no further information about the case
will be released. Anyone with information concerning this case is
asked to immediately contact the Sutter County Sheriff’s Department at
