Sutter County Sheriff’s Deputies Conduct Tobacco Sting

TEXT:

Sutter County Sheriff’s Deputies recently conducted a tobacco sting at sixteen Sutter County businesses.  During the operation, underage Sheriff’s Cadets went into the businesses and attempted to purchase tobacco products in violation of state law.  The operation was deemed successful based on the information that only three businesses sold the products to the cadets.  The clerks and businesses were identified as:

1. Santhida Bartlemay, 27, of Sutter at Munger’s Market, 7803 South Butte Road, Sutter, on a charge of sales of tobacco to a minor.
2. Said Abussarour, 41, of Yuba City at Mike’s Market, 1591 Franklin Road, Yuba City, on a charge of sales of tobacco to a minor.
3. Balwinder Sidhu, 22, of Yuba City at AM/PM Mini Mart, 1332 Bogue Road, Yuba City, on a charge of sales of tobacco to a minor.

Thirteen clerks at other establishments refused to sell tobacco products to the undercover cadets and should be commended for complying with the law.  Those businesses were identified as:

• 76 Station, 7505 Colusa Highway, Sutter
• Sutter Mini Mart, 2234 California Street, Sutter
• Quick-N-Stop, 2590 Buttehouse Road, Yuba City
• Kings Market, 10153 Live Oak Blvd, Live Oak
• Bootlegger Discount Liquor and Video, 9915 Live Oak Blvd, Live Oak
• Tiff’s Mini Mart, 9881 Live Oak Blvd, Live Oak
• Exxon Food Mart, 10375 Live Oak Blvd,  Live Oak
• Bill’s Market and Deli, 1443 Franklin Road, Yuba City
• Quick Stop, 1285 Bogue Road, Yuba City
• Lincoln Market, 1197 Lincoln Road, Yuba City
• Quick Stop, 1620 Lincoln Road, Yuba City
• Tim’s Mini Mart, 1619 Franklin Road, Yuba City
• 99 Truck Stop, 4142 Sawtelle Avenue, Yuba City
