Sutter County Sheriff’s Deputies Make
Arrests in School Vandalism

On 11/10/03, Sutter County Sheriff’s
Deputies from the Live Oak Substation responded to the Live Oak High
School, 2351 Pennington Road, Live Oak, regarding a large vandalism
and thefts from student lockers at the school. School authorities
reported the vandalism and numerous thefts from 197 out of 200 student
lockers at the school. Stolen items included backpacks, calculators,
and various other school supplies belonging to students at the
school. It appeared that bolt cutters may have been used to gain
access to the lockers. The investigation determined that the thefts
occurred between November 7 and November 10, 2003.
Deputies conducted an investigation
and were able to develop leads that led to the arrest of four
juveniles for the vandalism and thefts. The four, age 11-14, are all
from the Live Oak area. Much of the property was recovered from the
residences of the juveniles. Damage to the school was estimated at
$1500. The four were charged with vandalism, burglary and possession
of stolen property.
