SUBJECT:

Sutter County Sheriff’s Deputies Make Arrests in School Vandalism

TEXT:

On 11/10/03, Sutter County Sheriff’s Deputies from the Live Oak Substation responded to the Live Oak High School, 2351 Pennington Road, Live Oak, regarding a large vandalism and thefts from student lockers at the school.  School authorities reported the vandalism and numerous thefts from 197 out of 200 student lockers at the school.  Stolen items included backpacks, calculators, and various other school supplies belonging to students at the school.  It appeared that bolt cutters may have been used to gain access to the lockers.  The investigation determined that the thefts occurred between November 7 and November 10, 2003.

Deputies conducted an investigation and were able to develop leads that led to the arrest of four juveniles for the vandalism and thefts.  The four, age 11-14, are all from the Live Oak area.  Much of the property was recovered from the residences of the juveniles.  Damage to the school was estimated at $1500.  The four were charged with vandalism, burglary and possession of stolen property.
