MEDIA RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday, September 24, 2003 1330 SUBJECT: Up-date of Shooting from 09/15/03 TEXT: On 09/15/03 a shooting of a 15 year old Robbins youth was reported to the Sheriff’s Department. The incident allegedly occurred in front of the 17000 block of SR113, in the town of Robbins, Ca, a small town in the southwest corner of Sutter County. At the time of the report it was alleged that this may have been a drive by type of shooting. The victim suffered a single gunshot wound to the chest and is recovering from the wound. After an exhaustive investigation by Sheriff’s Detectives, it has been determined that this was an accidental shooting and that the information provided by the victim and several witnesses was false. Although those involved have been determined to be members and/or associates of a street gang, no direct ties to any gang activity at the time of the shooting have been determined.
