Sutter County Sheriff’s Deputies
conduct alcohol sting

Sutter County Sheriff’s Deputies
utilizing underage Sheriff’s Cadets, and with the assistance of Agents
from the State Alcohol Beverage Control, conducted an alcohol shoulder
tap program in the Live Oak area. A male subject was approached in
front of More-4-Less 10020 Live Oak Blvd, Live Oak. The male agreed
to make a purchase for the cadet. After handing over the alcohol, the
male was subsequently arrested on a charge of sale/furnishing alcohol
to a minor. He was identified as Jose Rito Flores, 41, of Live
Oak.
Under cover cadets contacted a male
subject outside of MG Liquor, 2920 Pennington Road, Live Oak, who
agreed to purchase alcohol. After turning over the alcohol to the
cadet, the male was arrested for sale/furnishing alcohol to a minor.
He was identified as Jose Daniel Quirarte, 44, of Live Oak.
Numerous other patrons were solicited
by the cadets and were rejected in their attempts to get alcohol
purchased.
The clerk at the Super Stop Market
#24, 2494 Archer was confronted with a beer purchase by an underage
cadet. The clerk properly denied the sale and demanded proper
identification and should be commended for following the law.
The Sheriff’s Department is committed
to the on-going alcohol program in conjunction with the State
Department of Alcohol Beverage Control in combating underage access
and drinking by minors.
