Deputies conduct Alcohol Buy/Shoulder Tap Program
TEXT:
Sutter
County Sheriff’s Deputies assisted by Agents from the Alcoholic
Beverage Control conducted a series of alcohol buys and shoulder taps
at several businesses in the Live Oak area. Using underage Sheriff’s
Cadets, alcoholic beverages were purchased from the clerk at the El
Centro Market, 10374 Live Oak Boulevard, Live Oak. This action
resulted in the arrest of clerk Barcenas Calderon Reyes, 22, of
Marysville, on charges of selling/furnishing alcohol to a minor.
He was cited and released.
A shoulder tap operation was
conducted in front of MG Liquor & Grocery, 2920 Pennington Road, Live
Oak. This resulted in the arrest of Jose Luis Morales Agular, 24,
of Live Oak, on charges of sell/furnishing alcohol to a minor.
A second shoulder tap operation was
conducted in front of Sunny’s Market, 9820 Broadway, Live Oak. This
resulted in the arrest of James David Scarberry, 56, of Live Oak,
on charges of sell/furnishing alcohol to a minor.
A third shoulder tap was attempted in
front of the Super Stop Market #2, 2494 Archer Avenue, Live Oak. The
clerk in this case took the appropriate action and requested the
undercover cadets leave the area.
These actions are a continuing
partnership with the Alcoholic Beverage Control and the Sutter County
Sheriff’s Department in an effort to reduce the ability of underage
persons from obtaining alcohol in Sutter County.
