Text
The Sutter County Sheriff's Department is conducting a homicide
investigation into the discovery of the body of a female that was
found in a walnut orchard south of Bogue Road and west of Walton
Avenue shortly before 7:30 PM on Saturday. The body was found by a
passing bicyclist who was riding nearby.
The body was identified late yesterday (Sunday) as that of Carol
Rosali Guillen, age 20, who had recently resided on Lincoln Road,
Yuba City. She formally resided in Meridian.
An autopsy performed yesterday afternoon found the cause of death
to be multiple gunshot wounds. At the time of her discovery, her
body was found to be fully clothed and there were no apparent signs
of sexual assault, however, a rape examination was conducted at the
time of autopsy as part of the investigation.
Guillen's vehicle was found parked on the east side of the
parking lot to the Quick Stop Market at the southwest corner of
Lincoln Road and Walton Avenue, early Sunday morning. The vehicle
was described as a black 1999 Honda Civic sedan, California license
#4FSG574. It is unknown at this time how the vehicle got to this
location or who drove it there, but it is believed that it occurred
sometime between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM, Saturday.
Anyone with information regarding Guillen and her vehicle's
whereabouts on Saturday, or any other information concerning this
case are asked to contact the Sutter County Sheriff's Detective
Division at (530) 822-7313 or 7307.
