| Wednesday, July 17, 2002 MEDIA RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE SUBJECT: ROADSIDE SOBRIETY CHECKPOINT The Sutter County Sheriff’s Department will conduct a Driving Under the Influence (DUI) Checkpoint Friday, July 19, 2002 between the hours of 7:00 P.M. to 1:00 A.M. The checkpoint will be in the unincorporated area west of Yuba City. In addition to Drunk Driving Enforcement, Sheriff’s Deputies will be working jointly with the Sutter County Health Department “Get Baby Buckled” program. Deputies, along with the Health Department personnel will be checking for Seatbelt and Child Restraint Compliance. Deputies will distribute informational material about the checkpoint and “Buckle Up Baby” program to all drivers passing through. Jim Denney Sheriff-Coroner |
