Sutter County Sheriff’s Department sponsors alcohol
training
Text:
In conjunction with the California Department of
Alcohol Beverage Control, the Sutter County Sheriff’s Department
recently held an alcohol education-training seminar. The event,
known as LEAD (Licensee Education on Alcohol and Drugs) was held at
Whiteaker Hall on August 27, 2001. The event was deemed a success,
with over 22 Yuba-Sutter merchants in attendance. The seminar was
taught by ABC Investigator Carol Scott and provided information on
what is acceptable identification, how best to check identification,
how to determine if identification is fraudulent, along with legal
updates on current laws.
The Sheriff’s Department co-sponsored the event
as part of a grant received from the State Department of Alcohol
Beverage Control. The grant provides funding for deputies to assist
in the education; compliance and enforcement of alcohol related
laws. The Sheriff’s Department will be scheduling other public
training seminars after the first of the year as part of the
on-going education effort.
