Volunteer Opportunities

Want to work with law enforcement in your community? There are many ways "ordinary" citizens can assist in this exciting field by volunteering their time. The Sutter County Sheriff's Department is looking for interested people to join the expanding Citizen Volunteer program.

Volunteers currently assist the department with patrols, child and public safety programs, sobriety checkpoints, traffic control, criminal records, and other support services. The Sheriff's Department provides all the necessary training. Tasks and schedules are varied and flexible, and the assignments are always interesting and worthwhile. Many "office" functions are necessary to support each deputy in the field, and volunteers have become an important part of the law enforcement team. Your life experience is your most important qualification.
