Investigations Section

Detective Buttler examining a cup for fingerprints Members of the Investigations Section are responsible for investigating felony cases submitted to them for follow up by patrol deputies. They also perform follow up investigation regarding coroners’ investigations, public administrator cases, and complex misdemeanor cases, or other cases as assigned by the Sheriff.

Detectives receive specialized training in the following areas:

• Computer Stress Analyzer
• Identi-Kit Composite Drawings
• Fingerprint Identification
• Sex based crimes
• Advanced Crime Scene Investigation
• Homicide Investigation
