The Sutter County Sheriff’s Department has initiated a program in which school-aged children are recognized for exhibiting good safety practices or valuable community service. At the discretion of a sheriff’s deputy, a citation is issued to the child recognizing their achievement. Some of the situations that may merit a citation are when children are wearing their bicycle helmet correctly, obeying traffic laws while riding their bicycle or crossing a street, or providing outstanding service to the local community.

The “Caught Being Good” Program is a joint effort of the Sutter Deputy Sheriff’s Association, who will be donating the bicycle for the drawing, and the Sutter County Sheriff’s Department.
